A seal says nothing about any person or any work: it is a fingerprint, and nothing can be read back out of it.

Each seal comes as two small files. The statement is the exact text that was sealed: two fingerprints and a time. Its SHA-256 is the value shown above as “The seal”, which you can work out yourself. The proof is an OpenTimestamps file for that statement.

Give both to any OpenTimestamps verifier. It will tell you the date by which that statement existed, from the public ledger, without asking nommo anything. A seal still awaiting confirmation will verify once its confirmation arrives, usually within a day.
