6 in 10 African creators can't earn a living from their work.
nommo pays every creator 70%, every sale, across every format. Collectors own the work outright, not rented access. No algorithm. No middleman.
Built for the way independent creators actually work.
Creators keep 70%
The person who made the work takes the largest share of every sale, automatically, the moment a collector checks out. No label, no distributor, no algorithm deciding who gets seen first.
What they buy, they actually own
Because a creator’s work lives on nommo and nowhere else, a sale here isn’t a rental. Buy once and it’s permanently theirs, no subscription, no expiring license, no access revoked.
Fans sample it before they commit
A clip, a sample, a page, a measured glance, free, no account needed. It’s the creator’s own shelf doing the selling, not an algorithm deciding who gets discovered.
From upload to paid, in three steps.
Upload your work
Any format, any price you set. A quick, fast QA check runs behind the scenes, not a gatekeeper standing between you and your audience.
Get discovered
A catalog built around artists and their pages, not an algorithm deciding who gets seen.
Get paid directly
A real payment processor handles the money, not us. You keep 70% of every sale, paid straight to your own account, no waiting on a payout schedule.
The artists filling the shelf.
Fresh on nommo.
Frequently asked.
How much do creators actually keep?+
Creators keep 70% of every primary sale, automatically, the moment a collector checks out. nommo keeps 30% to run the shelf. On a resale, the reselling collector keeps the majority of the price, the original creator earns an ongoing royalty, and nommo takes a smaller cut than on the first sale.
What does "buy once, own forever" actually mean?+
You pay once for a work and it is permanently yours, no subscription to keep paying, no license that quietly expires, no access getting revoked because you stopped paying a monthly fee. It behaves like owning a record or a book, not renting a stream.
How do I pay, and how do creators get paid?+
Checkout takes cards and a range of local payment methods depending on your country. Creators connect their own payout account and get paid directly the moment a sale completes, nommo never sits on your money or holds it for a payout schedule.
What if something goes wrong with a purchase?+
Contact support and we will look at it case by case. Because a purchase grants permanent access rather than a shippable good, refunds are generally available within 48 hours of purchase if you have not meaningfully accessed the full work, at nommo’s discretion.
What is Pre-loved?+
It isn’t a thrift shelf, it’s provenance: once a collector has held a numbered, limited-edition work for a while, they can pass it on to another collector, and the record of everyone who’s owned it travels with it, the same idea as a watch’s papers or a first edition’s history. The original creator keeps earning a royalty on it, indefinitely.
What do the content ratings mean?+
Every work carries a rating, G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17, the same idea as a film rating at the box office, so you know roughly what you are getting before you buy or press play. nommo does not host hardcore or explicit sexual content regardless of rating.
Can I try something before I buy it?+
Yes. Audio and video carry a capped free preview, images get a measured glance, and text work gets a sample excerpt, all without needing an account. You only pay when you are ready to own it.
Can I lend or gift what I own?+
Yes, one work at a time. You can lend a single track, book, or piece to someone for a set number of days, or gift it permanently. Your own access pauses for as long as a loan is out, mirroring handing over a physical copy, no file ever actually changes hands. Lending a whole album or collection in one step is on the way, for now it is one work at a time.
How many devices can I use?+
Each account can register up to 3 devices for playback. It is meant to blunt casual password sharing, not to function as strict copy-protection, and you can remove an old device from your account at any time to add a new one.
Does nommo allow AI-made work?+
Yes, but creators have to disclose it honestly at upload, fully human, AI-assisted, or AI-generated. Undisclosed AI-generated work gets held for a quick review before it goes public.
What are nommo Originals?+
Exclusive content produced by the nommo Institute for Creative Futures, nommo’s own production arm. It carries its own badge and its own shelf on the homepage, separate from the general creator catalog.
What is nommo Radio?+
A continuous, curated stream pulled from the catalog. It plays live rather than on demand, join in anytime, there is no pausing, skipping, or picking your own tracks, it is built to feel like a real station, not a personal playlist.
Can a DJ, radio, or TV station license a track for airplay?+
Yes, for any work a creator has specifically opened up for it. This is a separate thing from buying a copy, a broadcast license to publicly perform the work, not ownership of a unit, so it never touches provenance or edition size. A DJ or station applies for verification once, then a verified account can license any eligible work directly.
What audio and video quality does nommo support?+
Whatever the creator uploads, standard streaming quality, lossless, hi-res, or Dolby Atmos mixes. Creators declare the real spec of their file at upload, and it shows as a badge on the work.
Is there an age requirement?+
Yes. You have to confirm you are 18 or older to create a nommo account, checked at signup, not just implied by the content ratings above.
What if a work infringes my copyright?+
File a copyright notice through the Copyright link in the footer. We review every notice and may restrict access to the work while we do, this is a good-faith notice channel, not legal advice.
Stop giving your work away.
Upload what you made, keep 70% of every sale, no algorithm standing between you and the people who want it. And when they buy it, it’s genuinely theirs too, buy once, own forever.
